How it Works
Opportunity GrantED provides classroom grants of up to $500 to help teachers bring their ideas to life and create engaging learning environments for their students.
Application Deadline
September 1
Await your Grant’s approval.
Applications are thoughtfully reviewed by our volunteer board. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by mid October.
Approved items will be purchased and delivered directly to your school within 30 days of the funding decision.
Supporting the Work You Do Every Day
Past grants have funded classroom libraries, STEM materials, art supplies, sensory tools, flexible seating, technology, musical instruments, and other resources that help students learn, grow, and thrive.
Opportunity GrantED’s goal is simple: make it easy for teachers to access the resources they need so they can focus on what they do best, teaching.
Our goal is to make the process quick and easy to get you the materials you need for your students.
Criteria and Factors for Awarding Grants
Criteria 1
A school must have at least 60% of the student body qualify for the Illinois State Board of Education Community Eligbility Provision (CEP).
Criteria 2
The level of impact the requested item will have on the day-to-day student experience.
Criteria 3
Clear and adequate information provided in the grant application detailing what the items requested are and how they will enrich the classroom environment. Each item requested must include a link to the specific item.

How many students the grant items will impact.
